As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to lead our finance function and ensure strong financial stewardship across the business.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Director, this role plays a critical part in shaping the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance, driving improvements in systems and processes, and providing commercial insights that inform strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on role, well-suited to a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to evolve with the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end, and year-end processes
- Ensure compliance with QBCC (critical), ATO, QRO, and other statutory bodies
- Manage and optimise financial systems, including Jobpac and OCR tools
- Manage inter-company transactions and loan arrangements, including reconciliation and reporting
- Deliver accurate and timely management reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Forecasts), with coordination of financial reporting to external providers as required
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll (with support from local and offshore staff)
- Coordinate and manage external audits, including audit preparation, accounting standards compliance, and stakeholder liaison — balancing day-to-day work with audit requirements
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support project delivery and operational decisions
- Mentor and lead the finance team to ensure clarity of roles, ongoing capability uplift, and team performance
- Drive continuous improvement across financial controls, systems, and processes
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and advisors
About You
- CA or CPA qualified (ideal)
- Minimum 7 years in a senior finance role, preferably in construction
- Strong QBCC compliance experience with an understanding of minimum financial requirements and reporting obligations
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, including financial modelling and data analysis
- Experienced in using Jobpac (Highly Desirable) or similar construction ERP systems, including payroll functionality
- Strong working knowledge of Australian compliance and regulatory obligations
- Proven ability to manage a team and build internal capability
- Commercially astute with the ability to communicate complex financial matters simply and clearly
- Confident navigating audits and applying accounting standards in a growing business
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on while influencing senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail, reliable under pressure, and effective at juggling competing priorities

Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 + Super (commensurate with experience)
